Why Comics?
Usually Comics are ignored when teaching literature in our class. We tend to choose classics! We think they should read those classics, everybody should! But, are they really reading the books we choose.
Reading should be an amazing experience for them, not a punishment. Should we take students' opinions into account when choosing our materials?
I did, and I panicked... "We want to read some comics teacher, they are producing a lot of movies based on them" I did not know a thing about comics. I did no even like them. Who reads comics?
I started looking for materials and information to convince myself it was going to be ok... and then, I started to find great comics to work with. Furthermore, most of my students were reading and were excited about what we were reading (some of them will never read no matter the books you choose).
